It’s common for people to confuse intrapersonal and interpersonal communication and skills. On the contrary, they couldn’t be more different and have no similarities at all! The difference can be seen in the word’s etymology: “inter” refers to interactions between individuals or groups, while “intra” describes activities occurring within an individual or a group.
